Background and target group

Before a new member of the managing or supervisory board (the candidate) at a bank or another financial institution is appointed, DNB and AFM supervisors test the candidate on suitability – the so called ‘suitability test’. Proper preparation for a suitability test is advisable. DNB finds such preparation self-evident: ‘Being properly prepared for the position means being properly prepared for the suitability test as well.’

This is the background against which the UvA Academy receives regular requests to prepare  a candidate for a suitability test. We provide this preparation in the form of a half-day of individual coaching.

Content of coaching

The purpose of the coaching is to prepare the candidate  for the suitability test  with DNB or the AFM. In doing so, we devote attention to questions DNB or the AFM might ask the candidate during the suitability test. We also focus on what it means to be an executive in the Netherlands (starting point, trends and background).
