Successful completion of the Bank Executive Program will earn you the title of Certified Banker (CeBa®), which is protected under private law.

Target group

This programme is intended for current and new employees at a bank, audit & assurance or consultancy firm who wish to enrich their knowledge of banking seen from an international and Dutch perspective. These employees are expected to be familiar with the bank and the Dutch banking context in which they work.

Background

The core concern of the programme is to examine banking-related issues from the perspective of a banking executive. His or her perspective is broad and comprehensive. In other words, the banking executive:

  • Maintains a focus on society, the customer and the product;
  • Weighs all interests in connection with their bank when taking decisions;
  • Arrives at a well-considered conclusion as to the risks entailed by any current or proposed activities;
  • Approaches banking-related issues from an international and national perspective.

The impetus for such a broad and comprehensive approach to banking-related issues is that the banking sector is facing numerous developments which impact the very essence of banking. Clients’ preferences are ever-changing. Societal perspectives are shifting. And new competitors are emerging. What is our current (and future) revenue model? Where do our opportunities and threats lie? What are our strengths and weaknesses? The Bank Executive programme addresses these new developments and issues at length, while also helping participants gain thorough knowledge of the profession. The Bank Executive programme is not only philosophical in nature (What is the purpose of our existence as bankers? i.e. our mission, core functions and revenue model) but practical and down-to earth as well, in the sense of ‘counting coins’ – i.e. how banks operate – the fundamentals of banking.
